CROCHETED DISHCLOTHS, NEW IDEAS, RIBBON WINDSOCK

I Love making dishcloths!  Here are some new ideas for you who crochet.  I saw a picture of a granny square dish cloth and just loved it so made one to go with 2 others in white (love white, too!)  I use Sugar and Cream cotton yarn for these.
I started by making the granny square and double crocheting around it once.  Then I just added Dbl Cr rows on 3 sides until desired size was reached.  I then finished it off with a single crochet border.

Now these beautiful soft dishcloths I bought at Walmart for only $2.00 for 4!  I plan to give them a lacy edge of crochet thread and will post when done.  Don't they just brighten your day??

My daughter Barbie made a ribbon windsock for me and I just love it!  I love seeing it every morning on the corner of the shed, so bright and pretty.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and will come again soon!

Hugs from your old Krafter Kerrie:)

Centerpiece I created with my crocheted eggs, ceramic hen, raffia and a compote dish created from a bowl and candle base glued together.

I love the way it came out and it is on the food cart in my kitchen.

I also made another dish from a plate and candle base glued together that I found in a thrift store.  Any odd saucers you have will look great on candle bases of all kinds.  I used Jewelry/glass glue to join the bases to the plates.

I hope this has given you inspiration.  Bowl would be great with Easter goodies in it.  And the blue plate and base can still be used as a large candle holder for a pillar candle.  If you make one, please send pictures, I would love to see what you create!

Crocheted Easter Eggs

The perfect project for your yarn scraps: crocheted Easter Eggs. These look great in a basket, perfect for baby to play with and little ones to toss around.

I started with 3 chain and then joined, making 6 single crochet in the ring.  Adding rows increasing 1 stitch every other chain until the broadest part of the egg is formed.  Then I crocheted a couple of rows and started decreasing the next rows by single crocheting 2 chain at a time every other chain stitch until the tapered end of the egg was formed. Stuff the egg with fiber fill as you decrease the stitches.  Pull yarn through remaining 3 sts and pull end of yarn through egg.

These were so easy to make and a perfect little something for my great granddaughter Sofiah's Easter basket.  Washable and dryer safe.

Spring is coming for sure and I was thinking garlands and greeting cards.  I cut out Swallow shapes from colorful scrapbook papers and made garlands and greeting cards.

Cards with Swallows on them, ribbon bows and cut with scalloped craft scissors.

I added sayings that I typed out on the computer and cut them out with the scalloped scissors also.

Envelopes made from last year's Calendar pages-just fold and glue sides.
Garland of Swallow cut outs glued to a ribbon for over doorways or across shelves, mantel, bedroom valances.  Thank you for coming and do visit again soon!  Leave a comment, I love reading them!

Crocheted Hats I created and Spiral Scarf

These are some baby bonnets that I crocheted from experimenting without a pattern.  I love the way they came out and I even got a special request for the blue and white one for a baby boy. I will tell you how I did it.
I used simply soft brand yarn that has a sheen to it and then Bernet yarn for the flower and green band.
I started with a 5 crochet chain ring. 2nd row I did 2 single crochet in each chain around.  Then after joining, did 3 rows of double crochet increasing a stitch in the top of every other previous double stitch until the size I thought was sufficient for the top of the hat.
Then I did a row of shell stitch (single crochet,3 double crochet, 1 single crochet, all in one chain stitch of last row.  Skip a stitch and repeat.  Next, I did another row of double crochet using the base of each shell stitch and joined.  I added 5 double crochet rows using the green for the 4th row.  When the 5th row was completed I did a finishing row of shell stitch again to frame the face.  I then crocheted the little flower and sewed to the center of the bonnet.  Ribbons could be added on either side.

BOY BONNET

To finish this one, I crocheted a circle of 3 rows single crochet and added a little embroidered Duck (from craft store) in the middle.

I also finished another beautiful lacy Sashay yarn scarf in shades of orange, rust and red.

These scarves are available in my Etsy Shop (link in sidebar).
Wear indoors or out for a beautiful accent to your sweaters and blouses, so versatile.

Thank you for coming and please leave a comment, it is easy to do and I treasure them :)
