YES, ANOTHER PUMPKIN!!

HI THERE! I have had so much fun making fabric pumpkins that I had to make just one more!  This one has been cut from leaf printed fabric and I really like it.  I like the pumpkins because you can have them out all through the fall until December as they are not Jack-O-Lanterns.  They make such a bright and cheery accent throughout the house and I love looking at them!  I used Gold wire ribbon for the bow and made the leaves by just free-hand drawing and cutting with pinking sheers.  Then I stitched them together with a running stitch with a bit of stuffing in them.  Even a half of a cotton ball would have work by pulling out into a flatter shape.

THE FINISHED WREATH

I THOUGHT THE WREATH MIGHT NOT LOOK AS WELL ON A GREEN WREATH AS I COULD NOT FIND ONE READILY IN STRAW BUT to my surprise it looks quite well! So bright and cheery!  I was pleased with the outcome.

New Craft Helper...

I have a new craft helper-ha!  This is Isabella, my Ragdoll cat.  I got up from my chair and she thought because I put the basket on the floor that it was just for her!  She took one of the fall leaves out of the basket with her teeth and then laid it down beside the basket.  For more pictures go to http://beaver-kerrie.blogspot.com/

HOW TO MAKE A FABRIC LEAF WREATH OR COASTERS
I purchased a yard of leaf material a few years ago.  I cut out the leaves randomly so that I could put them on a felt backing and blanket stitch around the outside.  I have made several of these as well as coasters every fall.

I cut the leaves with pinking sheers to begin, then hold the felt behind the leaf and cut the felt out for the backing.  I then blanket stitch around the outside of the leaf attaching the felt.  Next, I use gold metalic thread to embroider down the veins on the leaves for accent and detail.  This is a fun lap craft.  You can attach the leaves to a straw wreath and tie with a Raffia Bow or use them individually for coasters.  They also make a nice house-warming gift.

Supplies:

         Red, brown, orange or yellow felt

         Printed leaf fabric

         Black buttonhole thread or embroidery thread 3 strands

         Gold metalic thread

         Hand sewing medium needle

         Optional  straw wreath and Raffia

                                                 

HAND CROCHETED COTTON DISHCLOTHS AND TOWELS

HI! Today I added several items to my Etsy shop.  The day is gloomy but sun is expected for the rest of the week though the weekend!  Yeah!

I have a dozen bundles of 3 left of the crocheted dishcloths and 5 kitchen towels with the crocheted hanger with button top.  These sure have been popular items!  The pine wood hand made candle holder was made by my hubby and is the first one of these that he has made and I just love it!  It will hold a tea candle as shown or a votive candle.  It has such clean lines and will go with any table setting.

I am selling the dishcloth bundles for only $3.00 a bundle plus postage now and the towels are only $4.50 but if you buy both it will be 7.00 for the set and you save! Also pay only one postage fee! Sunday Sun...
