My tiny orchid has bloomed again!
I have been crocheting baby dresses and Pinafores.
Due to changes in Google, I guess I am losing my blogs. I have not posted recently as I was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and have been in treatment now for 9 mos. now. I am doing better and they now classify me as "potential cure" for their goal.
I do not smoke and at age77 I am very healthy, was very active swimming, biking, even playing one on one basketball until my diagnosis last June. And it is strange, my hair is very thin but I have not lost it yet, I have not lost any weight and my nails and hair are growing!
I just returned from a trip to SC to see my latest great grandson who is 1 1/2 yrs. old and I had only seen him in photos. Great visit with him and his big sister who started Kindergarten this last fall already!
I really enjoyed blogging and it was a savior during the 8 yrs. my husband suffered with multiple myeoloma. He has been gone 7 yrs now and I miss him terribly.
So I guess this will be my last post for Kerrie's Krafts. if I ever figure out what google is doing with the Blogging, I will return. Thank you.

Loving to craft!
Crocheting is good therapy and I told my Mom that when she taught me to crochet, she gave me a friend for life....
I was recovering from shoulder surgery for so long and missed not crocheting, knitting, etc. Just finished this hat and dishcloths.
And below is a snowy or rainy day project for Moms to do with their kids as I posted previously on my Facebook page: Cut the heart of the celery bottom and dry by hitting on a paper towel. Then paint the celery heart with acrylic paint to make a rose stamp. Add random sweeps of green for leaves. Peel more petals off the celery to make smaller roses. Children can make prints, greeting cards, etc.
And here is a baby blanket and hat in the "Jamie" crochet stitch that you can find for free on line under that name. I hope you are inspired!

My Best two friends were Carpenters....
My wonderful sweet husband succumbed to the horrible cancer Multiple Myeloma on Thursday, January 26, 2011 at 5:15pm. He died an agonizing 12 hour death and he held my hand until the last breath. I gave in to have Hospice help the last 3 days when I could no longer lift him. They were absolutely wonderful and supportive and I cannot praise them enough. They never took his care away from me but supported me with medical knowledge as well as loving hugs. We all bonded including Bill in just those short 3 days of knowing one another. When Bill passed, they wept right along with us.
The hammer is still, the saw is silent. The house is filled with his love though and I feel its warmth all around me. Thanking all of you who have traveled this journey with us. You saved me when I was lonely, had questions or just depressed. You shared your own experiences and always tried to make Bill and myself feel better. What would I have done without my blogs when we were housebound? Thank you sweet friends, I love you all. Hugs, Kerrie
I wrote a song to him once about MY BEST FRIEND IS A CARPENTER.... And it is about the Lord but also about my Carpenter Bill. I will share with you some day....
Bill doing what he loved best! Taken on Owasco Lake in Auburn NY several fall seasons ago...
And here is a picture of my honey, the carpenter busy in the shed in the 90's. He was always building and creating.

BEING CREATIVE....
Don't forget to hop over to Beverly's at
http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/pink-saturday/
to see what others have posted!
Be creative!! My youngest daughter and I have a tradition of buying crazy socks and slippers for each other. A couple of yrs ago, she sent me these slipper socks, keeping one of each color and sending me one of each color. I like wearing them in the bathroom and dancing on the slippery floor while curling my hair. So I got creative and this was the result-LOL! (turn up the sound)
Being creative at my back door, hung a bird plaque to the left and draped fabric Wisteria on a wrought iron grill work piece that I bought in St. Augustine Florida years ago, on the right side of the door. I thought about spray painting the grill work but cannot decide yet-:)
This little birdhouse was given to me by my son a long time ago in SC. It has been repaired many times and this time I repaired the roof by cutting a sheet of metal from a soda can and nailing it to the house. Worked great! The squirrel won't stop sitting on the top of it though and it falls from the fence so I need to put a support under it so his fat little self won't weight it down!
John and I live right next door to each other which makes it very handy to be a couple-ha! He decided we needed a veggie garden between the yards and made this raised bed. It has onions, shallots, leaf lettuce, Kale and even carrots in it!
Below is my painting in the style of Bob Ross. I love his style. I did this one in about a half hour or so and John liked it so much that I gave it to him for his birthday July 16th. I really need to paint more!
John watering our happy little garden. Central NY has had very little rain this year so the plants are a little stunted in growth, poor babies!
And look at Nature's beautiful paintbrush on this Maple Leaf!! So, so pretty. I wish now I had tried to "hammer" the image onto a linen napkin before it dried out but I will try that next time for sure!!
Thank you so much for coming and do come again soon to visit and leave a comment as they make my day!

This is my new front porch, I am loving it. My handy man did a great job and his grandson worked with him this summer.

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!
Hello friends and followers! So sorry that I have not been posting as I should. Time has gotten away from me for many reasons and I am hoping to get back into my weekly posts.
Sharing from Design Peak this beautiful string of beaded flowers!
http://design-peak.com/crochet-mini-flower-string/
So beautiful! Click on the link for directions.
It reminded me of a candle or lampshade doily that I made years ago crocheting with pearls:
I found the pattern on one of those free pattern clips near the yarn dept. in Walmart. Just came across it again and will be making more, soooo pretty!
and one more idea for you today, doilies on candle holders:
I had seen so many of these purchased doilies on Mason jars on line and loved the idea so used some vintage ones I had laying around and put them on jars I had in the cupboard. The yellow candle I bought in the dollar store one time. I later added a tied ribbon to each jar lip. Just love the look!
Come back soon, thank you for visiting and please leave a comment to make my day! Blessings and happy crafting to you all!

What to do with one sock
Loving this little kitty made from the "other" sock when the washer ate the other one-ha! These would make a great tuck in gift for any age. Good way to use up old children's socks, too.

Paper roll recycle craft
The look of metal but made with cardboard rolls from your paper towels or toilet paper rolls!
My little neighbor and I made these designs by cutting the rolls crosswise in 1/2 inch pieces and then pinching them on each end to create a leaf shape.
Then we hot-glued them together in the shape we wanted and waited for them to dry. Next I bought flat spray paint and sprayed them inside of a cardboard box. When they were dry, this is what we created:

Pen and Ink Portraits, pets, Motorcycle riders
GOOD MORNING! I am posting this too late for Father's day gifting but wanting to remind you of my pen and ink drawings from photos that I create. This one below is of Richard Petty for you Nascar fans out there! If you are interested in having a portrait made from your photo's, please comment or e-mail me, thanks!
I have some on hand that I can make prints from that I have created in the last few years. I first began drawing these portraits because my late husband was a die-hard racing fan and I enjoyed watching the races with him while crocheting or working on other projects as I cannot be idle-LOL!
Thank you for stopping by today and do come again soon! My head injury is healing more rapidly now and I am hoping that the hair will grow back over it ..... or I will have to create one of those side comb over hair-do's-ahaha!

Watering Pot
Here is a really easy yard craft for you! Buy a watering pot, you can even use a toy one and different colors.
2. Fill with dirt and plants that will trail down when grown. I used Vinca vine and Asparagus fern.
3. String beads through the spout for water droplets. My spout did not unscrew so I just tied 4 different lengths of beads to the neck. I bought the short crook at Lowe's for 5.00. This is the corner of my front porch beside the sun porch. I just love it!
Just for fun, I took petals from the Tulip tree that had blown into the lawn from the beautiful tree next door and made them look like bunny ears.
I drew faces for them-ha! This would be fun to do with the kids and see the faces they come up with.
For lots of pinks, go to How sweet the Sound for PINK Saturday!

FEET BUTTERFLIES
Hello crafty people! Just had to share this great and easy idea, isn't it precious??
I just love it! Wouldn't it make a great Easter gift for grandparents filled with candy or whatever they like? I have a great granddaughter that I would be thrilled to get this from!
I suggested to my granddaughter that she could make larger clay pots with Daddy and Mommy's prints on them and make a row of them on the patio or by steps or in a cluster in the yard. I think that would be so cute and cool!
You could probably do this with hand prints for a bird figure, also. Flower pots make great gifting as you can personalize them and fill them with items to fit someone's personality. For example, fill with seeds, trowel and gardening gloves or a book and juice bottle and sweets. What do your family friends and children like that they would love to get in a pot instead of a basket? Fun!
Here is my Easter Bonnet that I still use and made a few years ago. This was made from a child's hat from the Dollar Store. I stapled fabric flowers on it and added the wire ribbon and bunny. You could also glue plastic eggs around it and grass.

I made this in 2010 and here it is now on my front door.
Bunny has disappeared and a new Pink Ribbon has been added.
I also still have my porcelain hen with crocheted Easter Eggs. For more ideas, search Easter in the sidebar. Happy Easter Crafting!! ♥

Hey there followers!! Sorry I have not been posting lately but I have been ill with one of those pesky winter colds, painting my living room to cover dark ugly paneling and even had a sewer back up~sorry for bad words-LOL! I am painting the living room with a light warm beige and am so pleased. I have 2 walls done with 2 coats and have 2 walls to go. And of course that will make me rearrange, too-ha! Are you like that?
Not much of a surprise that I chose a color almost the same as what I had in my kitchen in SC-ha!
Progress at my age is slow but sure :)
What a difference it makes!! The room is much brighter and the furniture will look lovely against this background.
Curtains back up :)

Meantime, here is a great idea for you: Ashtray, vases made into bird feeder or bath with thrift shop buys.....
I can't wait to try this. Thanks for coming and leave a comment pls. I treasure them.

I need to paint the closet door as it sticks out like a sore thumb now. I painted the front door above and that worked out really well. The paint I am using has primer in the mix already~very convenient!
I am really pleased so far with the outcome and will show more pics after the room is finished, rearrangement complete and rugs shampooed~may take me til summer-ha! Are you passing the long winter with updates, remodels, etc? I would love to see. Meantime, here is a great idea for you: Ashtray, vases made into bird feeder or bath with thrift shop buys.....
